Athletics

Lititz Area Mennonite School offers an extracurricular athletic program to its middle school students. In a typical year over one-half of the middle school students participate in at least one sport throughout the school year, while there are several students that get involved with two or three sports.

The athletic program provides an opportunity for students to:

  • Grow in their relationship with Christ
  • Learn skills and fundamentals of a particular sport
  • Develop respect for authority as they relate to a coach and officials
  • Gain knowledge of the rules that apply to a given sport
  • Discover the value of teamwork and sportsmanship.

The athletic program also provides the students to have many of their needs met, which include spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and academic. There is an established sports philosophy that coincides with the core values of the school. There are currently three sport seasons with a sport offered in each season for the girls and the boys. These include:

  • Girls’ Sports – volleyball, basketball, soccer, and archery
  • Boys’ Sports – soccer, basketball, baseball, and archery

Lititz Area Mennonite School is a member of the Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference. It also participates with other schools in “non-league” games. LAMS Athletic Calendar: http://www.ccaconferencepa.org/
