Athletics at LAMS

Lititz Area Mennonite School offers an extracurricular athletic program to its High School and Middle School students. While the High School program is just getting off the ground, the Middle School program has a long history of success in various sports.  It is not uncommon, in a typical year, for over one-half of the Middle School students to participate in at least one sport throughout the school year, while there are several students that get involved with two or three sports.

The athletic program at LAMS provides an opportunity for students to:

  • Grow in their relationship with Christ
  • Learn skills and fundamentals of a particular sport
  • Develop respect for authority as they relate to a coach and officials
  • Gain knowledge of the rules that apply to a given sport
  • Discover the value of teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Compete against other schools in the CCAC League and other private schools

LAMS athletics also provides students the opportunity to grow in other areas such as spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and academic areas as they learn to use their time wisely and find a healthy balance between school, home, church, and extracurricular activities. There is an established sports philosophy that coincides with the core values of the school. There are currently three sport seasons with (a) multiple sports offered in each season for both girls and boys. As our enrollment continues to grow, new sports opportunities are continually being added.

  • HS Boys and Girls Sports – cross country, volleyball, basketball, bowling, archery, and track & field.
  • MS (Grades 5-8) Boys and Girls Sports – cross country, volleyball, soccer, basketball, archery, and track & field.
  • Elementary (Grades 4-5) – archery

Lititz Area Mennonite School is a member of the PIAA and Commonwealth Christian Athletic Conference. It also participates with other schools in “non-league” games. The LAMS Athletic Calendar can be found at: http://www.ccaconferencepa.org/
